His CT scan does not look promising and his doctor gives his father the news that he'll be lucky to reach his fourth birthday. Almost ten years later, Logan has beaten all odds and is still battling his illness. While in class one day he is given an assignment, to take a passage or quote and write about what it means and how it applies to him. Later on that night while he and his dad are watching television, he is reminded that his birthday is coming up. Logan, knowing his dad can't afford much due to medical treatment for his condition, settles on a birthday party with all his friends. His dad investigates further if there was anything else he wanted where Logan admits he wanted a treehouse. After Logan has gone to bed, his dad gets a phone call from Betty who works at the Pharmaceutical Lab. She informs him that unfortunately, Logan did not make the cut for the trial of new medicine. A few days later, Logan and his father meet up with friends at the park. While Logan is off playing with friends his father invites their longtime family doctor to Logan's birthday party. She accepts the invitation and the two continue watching Logan playing with his friend. Darryl pipes up and says there is one more thing that he needs to ask. He asks Melanie on a date, she agrees and set a date for next Friday. A montage begins of a treehouse being built. The montage is cut and we see Logan and Darryl resting on the unfinished floor of the treehouse, just as the sun is setting. After his father inquires about the book he's reading, Logan reads off the poem ''Nothing Gold Can Stay'' by Robert Frost. The montage begins again and the treehouse finally gets completed. A large crowd has gathered in the Curtis backyard and begins to sing ''Happy Birthday''. Logan's father brings out a cake, hoping for him to make it another year. It's the night of the date. Pizza gets delivered to the house and a hesitant Daryl lets his son stay home and wait for the babysitter to arrive. While at the dinner with Melanie, the two confide about Logan. The waitress and chef arrive, presenting them their meal. Awhile later on the waitress reappears with a message from the hospital, requesting Melanie's expertise and assistance with a patient. The two leave the restaurant and Darryl drives her to the hospital, where he waits patiently for her to finish her duties. She walks out to the waiting room, a look of disbelief on her face. When Darryl enquires, he is given the bad news that Logan has died from complications of his illness. One week later, Logan's funeral is held. Brandon, Melanie and Darryl both give a small speech about Logan. A eulogy is given by Father Martin. One evening afterwards, Logan's teacher shows up on the front steps of the Curtis residence with Logan's belongings he had left at school. She advises him to read his most recent assignment which was to take a passage or quote and write about what it means and how it applies to him. After thanking her, he reads his essay in the living room. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Toy Soldier (film)」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
